Monogram Binder

I recently updated an old three ring binder for my pro bono materials.  I used my Cricut Winter Wonderland font and dollar store contact paper.

I hope my pro bono work is as impressive as my new binder!

Byrne v Boadle

Here's another classic tort case - ENJOY!

It was the Defendant's building he was passing by
when a barrel of flour fell from the sky
It struck the Plaintiff in the head
but he wasn't quite dead.
The probable cause of this mess
was a mystery to the Plaintiff, Defendant, and Witness
Res Ipsa Loquitor the judge explained,
to a reasonable jury, but the Defendant complained
An accident is no tort
you must tell this court
No one would dare
to question my standard of care.
For it was his barrel
that caused the Plaintiff such peril
Negligence is the answer to this dispute question
the verdict for the plaintiff will ease all this tension
He thought his defense was as flawless as silk
but you just can't deny the trout in the milk

I. de S. and Wife v. W. de S

Every law student in the US reads the same handful of CLASSIC cases -  the Palsgraf case for instance.

Here is my tribute to I. de S. and Wife v. W. de S.  ENJOY!

The plaintiff was suing on behalf of his wife,
because the defendant was inches from taking her life!
This husband was simply holding a grudge,
the drunkard explained to the judge,
"I was slamming my ax on the door
when out popped the head of his whore.
She stuck her face out the window to see the cause of this racket,
and her head nearly missed the blade of my hatchet.
An imminent battery I wanted her to think,
so she would be frightened and get me a drink."
The judge would not have it
this can't be a habit.
He declared the defendant at fault
we will not tolerate assault!
So the next time you are in need of some wine,
you better remember this line...
if you swing your hatchet at the head of your neighbor.
the court's ruling will not be found in your favor.

Tax Law and Oberon

Tax Law final is OVER!  One down and one to go.  My evidence final is tomorrow, yuck!  I devoted all of my energy yesterday to work and tax law, so it was a no gym day.  I did, however, celebrate the completion of tax law with an evening on the patio at Brannigan Brothers.

This celebration received the approval of Jason.  He also approved the sweet, sweet flavors of Oberon!

I say, if you are going to cheat of your diet, you might as well make it worthwhile.  So good I can't even feel guilty about it!  Gym and studying tonight.

Study and Gym

I'll be spending most of my day studying in my bed with this cute guy.

I'll make it over to the gym eventually.

Training and Finals

This week has been really difficult for me to set aside the time I'd like to train.  I really wish I could be putting in some hard hours at the gym, but I seriously need to study for my finals next week Monday and Wednesday.

I'm meeting with Jason tonight and I have made up my mind that I'm going to totally kick ass.  I need to make up for dragging last week!

I also have a new obsession.  Pinterest! It is a super awesome website that lets you 'pin' things you find on the web into a category that you create so you can check it out later.  I'm constantly emailing myself different links and this is so much easier.  I am hooked!  Standby for a pageant gown pin board.  :)  I still need to find a gown!  Ok, 6 more days of school and then I can really concentrate on Miss Michigan.

Today is the Farmer's Market Day at the Capitol!  This is my second favorite day of the year, it is right behind Agricultural Day.  (pretty similar except the stuff on Ag Day is FREE)
